The Steps From Consultation to Receiving Your Invisalign Trays in Phoenix AZ

If you have always wanted a straighter, more attractive smile, but avoid orthodontic treatment because you do not want to wear traditional metal braces, Dr. Frost, of Biltmore Dental Center may have the solution for you. Many of his patients in Phoenix have straightened their smiles discreetly and comfortably with Invisalign, the clear aligner tray system. The steps to a more beautiful smile are simple.

Consultation

The doctor will examine your teeth to ensure Invisalign is the right orthodontic option for you. He will explain the treatment process and answer any questions you may have.

Taking Records

A variety of information is needed to plan your Invisalign treatment. The doctor or assistant will take impressions of your teeth and gum tissue and a record of your bite. X-rays are taken to evaluate your root positioning and jawbone health. A series of photographs will be taken, close-ups of your top and bottom dental arches, side and front full-face photographs, and side and front close-ups with your teeth closed. This appointment usually takes about 1 hour.

The Information Is Sent to the High-Tech Laboratory

The impressions, x-rays, bite record, photos, doctor’s instructions, and other pertinent information is sent to the Align Technology laboratory. The Invisalign technicians will convert all of the information into a three-dimensional digital model of your lower and upper teeth. A virtual animation of your entire treatment plan is created. This demonstrates the tooth movement sequence that will achieve the results the doctor specified. The virtual simulation of your treatment is evaluated by the doctor, who can request any desired changes.

Your Aligner Trays Are Made

Once the laboratory receives the doctor’s approval of the treatment plan, a series of lower and upper casts will be manufactured. The number of casts varies, depending on the degree of tooth movement needed. The individual trays are then made on each cast and the entire series is sent to the doctor.

You Can Begin Your Treatment

You will visit Dr. Frost to receive your trays and instructions on wearing and caring for your aligners. Your first progress check will be scheduled at this time, and the doctor and his team will be happy to answer any questions you may have meanwhile. They are only a phone call away.
