At Biltmore Dental Center we use a computerized system called Tek Scan, a bite analysis instrument, which allows us to accurately measure and analyze your bite.
A sensor is placed in your mouth and a movie is recorded and analyzed of the biting process. Unlike the typical carbon-type bite checking paper which only shows where a tooth contact is, the Tek Scan allows us to identify the exact order of teeth contacts through the computer on a real-time basis, showing the intensity and force of your bite throughout the mouth in milli-second intervals. This allows us to adjust your bite to a degree of precision never before attainable.
